Poster Problems for Diagnostic Teaching in Mathematics

Poster Problems encourage students to develop their mathematical thinking through problem solving, groupwork and discussion, and visual representations. Teachers are able to assess learners’ understanding in real time. Though targeted at middle schoolers, the twelve curated problems cover relevant math concepts and skills such as ratios and rate, negative numbers, triangle geometry, and statistics. Explanatory “teacher tune ups” and tips are included on the website.

Educators must create free accounts with the SERP (Strategic Education Research Partnership) website in order to download free, ready-to-use  PDF student handouts, presentation slides, and other materials.
