Refugee, Immigrant, & New American Serving Organizations

These are organizations that provide services to the refugee and immigrant community.

  • Office of New Americans: This organization is responsible for the implementation of a statewide strategy to provide immigrants with comprehensive assistance related to employment, housing, healthcare, education, citizenship and other services for which they may be eligible.
  • Virginia Refugee Resettlement Agencies: These organizations support refugees with social integration and economic empowerment. Support services available to refugee-eligible clients include employment, health, education, youth mentoring, services for older refugees and foster care for unaccompanied refugee minors through the Unaccompanied Refugee Minor Foster Care (URM) program. VDSS works in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and federally-contracted agencies to administer the URM program.
  • Virginia Legal Aid: This resources is a Virginia Partnership for Equal Justice Website Project. It is an ambitious attempt by Virginia legal aid offices and their partners to provide complete, accurate, up-to-date information on poverty law issues in an interactive and easily accessible format.
  • ReEstablish Richmond: This is a refugee-serving organization with the mission of connecting refugees and new immigrants to the resources needed to establish roots, build community, and become self-sufficient.
  • World Education Services: This is a non-profit social enterprise that supports the educational, economic, and social inclusion of immigrants, refugees, and international students in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Upwardly Global: This organization is focused on advancing workforce inclusion for work-authorized immigrants, refugees, and asylees with professional experience and international degrees by helping them secure skill-aligned jobs to ensure a diverse workforce, build resilient communities, and contribute to a robust U.S. economy.
