Online Learning Tools
This section covers an overview of the various types of tools that can be used to facilitate online learning. These tools are separated into web-conferencing tools which are typically used to deliver synchronous, virtual instruction, messaging applications which are typically used to communicate with learners, and instructional tools which are typically used to deliver online instruction either synchronously or asynchronously. In addition, there are resources to support programs and instructors in choosing and implementing online learning tools. |

Instructional Tools: These tools, which are either free or have free versions, can be used to supplement instructional materials within the classroom or for additional practice outside of the classroom. |

Web-conferencing Platforms: These tools can be used to host web conferences (synchronous virtual classes, meetings, orientations, etc.) with students. All of these tools are free or have free versions. While they all have web conferencing ability, their available tools and offerings differ. |

Messaging Tools: These tools can be used for sending messages to students to communicate reminders, updates, and important information. |

Learning Management Systems: These tools are often used in education to organize course materials and content and to streamline course communication and interaction.
