ASPD Videos
The ASPD explanation videos have been developed to support and assist students registering for English language classes. These videos can be sent to students prior to registration so that they are better prepared for their scheduled registration phone call or appointment or any other type of registration process.

Building Basics
Building Basics is a multi-level curriculum for teaching ESOL within the context of the construction trades. It has been organized into four modules General Construction, Curb Appeal (Landscaping), Painting, and Plumbing. These lessons provide a facilitator guide with step-by-step instructions for implementation, facilitator materials, and learner handouts.

Health Literacy Toolkit
This interactive toolkit and resource for adult ESOL educators and others interested in health care communication with English language learners contains:

  • reproducible lesson plans and teaching materials on high-interest, hard-to-teach health topics,
  • easy-to-read resources on using U.S. health care for learners to access directly,
  • examples and how-tos for engaging in interdisciplinary health literacy projects,
  • and much more!

Literacy Education and Second Language Learning for Adults
The LESLLA site provides resources about teaching literacy level students, current research studies, and information on its conferences and publications.

Survey of VA Foreign Born Population
The Survey of Virginia Foreign Born Population contains pertinent data on the foreign born in each of 22 regions in Virginia.
