SUMMARY:Teaching Skills That Matter Maker Space Info Session
DESCRIPTION:This webinar introduces upcoming opportunities to be part of the Teaching the Skills that Matter (TSTM) EdTech Maker Space initiative.  \nStarting in June 2022\, the EdTech Center at World Education will be running a series of seven EdTech Maker Space projects. The goal of the projects is to offer service learning experiences for adult education teachers who want to collaborate to create digital open education resources. Each 6-week online project offers professional development on digital resource curation or creation and evaluation. \nThese projects will focus on the Teaching the Skills that Matter topic areas – Digital Literacy\, Financial Literacy\, Health Literacy\, Workforce Preparation\, and Civics Education. \nOver the course of the year\, the projects will evolve from 1) curating quality resources to 2) generating activities that incorporate skills such as problem solving and critical thinking to 3) building reusable TSTM-aligned lessons using SkillBlox. Best of all\, the resources generated will be added to the all-new SkillBlox to make it easier for teachers to find\, organize\, and share resources that support TSTM instruction.

SUMMARY:GEDTS Tuesday for Teachers: Have You Talked about “Zero” Lately?
DESCRIPTION:GED Testing Services offers the Tuesdays for Teachers series as a free professional development offering. Here’s their description of the upcoming March session: We often “talk about nothing\, or zero” in day-to-day conversations. A conversation about the “zero” in RLA is certainly “nothing” and has become a serious concern for many educators and their students. We hear the concerns and need to address “the elephant in the room:” the zero in the scoring rubric. In this session\, we will answer your questions about “why a zero?” and provide a deeper understanding of the zero. Join us to help students improve their writing skills on the Extended Response and real-world writing. Register today!
