From Intake to Achievement

From Intake to Achievement is a one-stop shop for training to effectively manage students' progress from entering your program until they accomplish their goals and exit. You will find all of our non-facilitated, self-paced policy and certification courses housed within From Intake to Achievement on Blackboard.

Please note that each training contained within From Intake to Achievement is listed as a separate course in ERO. You must register for each individual training which you wish to complete while enrolled in the From Intake to Achievement course on Blackboard.

Assessment Policy Training

This training is offered to you by Virginia Department of Education's Office of Adult Education and Literacy through The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center. This training serves as the VDOE approved training required of all staff working with adult learners in Virginia adult education programs.

Virginia Assessment Policy Training, Online Initial

Virginia Assessment Policy Training, Online Refresher

You must complete the Initial training if you:
  1. Have never been trained on the Virginia Assessment Policy.
  2. Work for an adult literacy program that is directly funded by the Office of Adult Education and Literacy. You must complete this training prior to assessing learners.
You may complete the Refresher training if you:
  1. Completed the Virginia Assessment Policy training within the past 1 year and 11 months.
  2. Work for an adult literacy program that is directly funded by the Office of Adult Education and Literacy. Continuing staff must recertify on the assessment policy every two years.
Allow approximately two hours for completion. Allow approximately 30 minutes for completion.

Goal-Setting Policy Training

This training is offered to you by Virginia Department of Education's Office of Adult Education and Literacy through The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center. This training serves as the VDOE approved training required of all staff working with adult learners in Virginia adult education programs.

Virginia Goal-Setting Policy Training, Online Initial

You must complete the Initial training if you:
  1. Have never been trained on the Virginia Goal-Setting Policy, either face-to-face or online.
  2. Work for an adult literacy program that is directly funded by the Office of Adult Education and Literacy. You must complete this training prior to working with learners on goal setting.
You may complete the Refresher training if you:
  1. Completed the Virginia Goal-Setting Policy, either face-to-face or online, within the past 1 year and 11 months.
  2. Work for an adult literacy program that is directly funded by the Office of Adult Education and Literacy. Continuing staff must recertify on the goal-setting policy every two years.
Allow approximately two hours for completion. Allow approximately 30 minutes for completion.

TABE Certification Training, Forms 9 & 10

The TABE Certification Training Online provide you with the skills, knowledge, and ability to place adults into the appropriate instructional level when using the TABE. Also, in order to administer the TABE Assessments, you must be certified (Assessment and Reporting Policies for Adult Education and Literacy Programs, Part 4, 4.2, May 2003) as is outlined in state policy.

This certification training is offered to you by The Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center and CTB/McGraw-Hill.

TABE Certification Training, Forms 9 & 10, Online Initial

TABE Certification Training, Forms 9 & 10, Online Refresher

You must complete the Initial training if you:
  1. Have never been trained in how to administer TABE.
  2. Work for the Department of Correctional Education (DCE) or through a Workforce Investment Act (WIA) agency.
You may complete the Refresher training if you:
  1. Completed the Initial TABE Training within the past 1 year and 11 months.
  2. Work for an adult literacy program that is directly funded by the Office of Adult Education and Literacy.
Allow approximately one hour for completion. Allow approximately 30 minutes for completion.
