VAECP Instructor Level 2 Online will be piloted THIS FALL...
Level 2 is the second in the three-tiered program for adult educator instructor certification in Virginia. Level 2 Online is a combined ESOL / ABE-ASE instructor course. (40 hours)

Requirements: Eligible participants include anyone who completed an instructor Level 1, whether face-to-face or online format. Participants will be required to deliver a unit of instruction to adult learners and therefore must be actively teaching in some context.

Goal: Teachers will design and deliver integrated education and training that helps adult learners reach higher levels of achievement.

Course Objective: By the end of the course participants will have designed, delivered, and evaluated a research-based unit of instruction that includes best practices, standards, and pathways for adult learners while becoming more critically reflective practitioners.

Schedule: Level 2 includes 7 weeks of paced, on-line work (September 18 - November 5), a 4 week break to allow participants time to teach their unit (November 6 - December 3), and 1 final week for unit presentation and evaluation (December 4 - 10).

Applications for the L2 pilot are being accepted August 3 - 28. Click here to access and submit the application form: We are looking for a diverse pilot group which will consist of ABE/ASE and ESOL instructors and who have completed Level 1 in both the online and face-to-face environment. (Anyone submitting an application who is not selected for the pilot will be placed on a list for the second offering of Level 2 in the fall of 2016.) NOTE: Registration for selected participants will take place upon notification of acceptance into the pilot.
