Welcome to the GED instructor's resource page at the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center. This section will be updated regularly with information regarding the GED Tests in Virginia, professional development training dates, and Race to GED marketing campaigns, so please check back often.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view archived copies of Progress; Acrobat is a free download that will allow you to view and print PDF documents.

Note: At this time the only approved High School Equivalency test in the state of Virginia is from GED Testing Service.

2014 GED Professional Development
For the 2014 GED Test, the GED Testing Service has out together a web page linking to all their educator information/Professional Development. This webpage is broken down into beginner, foundational and intermediate categories with specific links such as GED Test 101, Performance Level Descriptors, and webinars.

Offering GED Instruction
The Resource Center hosts seven websites and webpages that target specific GED areas of interest. They include information from the Virginia Department of Education, GED Virginia site for students, GED teacher resources on the VALRC's webiste, a GED Discussion forum designed for teachers and administrators, a national site to find a GED test prep center, and GED research and resources on our Facts and Statistics site.

Stay informed about the changes for the 2014 GED test by signing up for automated updates.
2014 GED Item Sampler
If you looked at the Item Sampler when it was first released, go back and take another look. 16 additional questions (4 in each area) were added in November.
