National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week is Upcoming (August 30, 2010)

September 13 - 18 is National Adult Education and Family Literacy week.

The National Coalition for Literacy website gives ideas for program managers and instructors for promoting adult education. Ideas include hosting a writing contest or readathon, tweeting or writing a blog post, creating a video , and talking to local businesses, press, and community members. The suggestions may also inspire ideas for getting the word out about other fall literacy events, including Virginia's GED and Lifelong Learning Week (October 18-23), the National Day on Writing (October 20), and International Literacy Day (September 8).
